Beach Thai, Muay Thai, Pad Thai

Day 3 went on without a hitch.  After working at the day-care for a bit we traveled to the beach to catch some rays and 85 degree waves.  Check it out:

Notice the lack of people on the beach.  The Thais don't like the sun.  Seriously though, they only visit during the night to play football (soccer) and socialize there.  On the way back we took a songthaew, which is a pick-up truck that's converted into a taxi.  Cheap and intriguing, this definitely made for a good time.  The ride was pleasant until school children were picked up along our route.  Let's just say 35 people, mainly kids, were on this thing.  A new record for the volunteers who have been here for the last 6 months...

After the beach, we joined two of our fellow volunteers to learn how to kick some butt Thai style.  So, we were off to Tony's gym to take private Muay Thai lessons.  Here's a little taste of our new skills:

To think this day could not get any better, after the brutal training we went to a thai stall for the traditional Pad Thai dish.  We were quite skeptical about eating at a stall for fear of eating roasted dog, but alas our volunteer counterparts insisted it was chicken.  It was way better than Noodles & Co...

Speaking of volunteers, here's some of them:

And here's some of the kids we're hanging out with at the day-care (Btw, the kids at the day-care are average, able-bodied kids who are there so their parents can work and that the kids have a watchful eye over them.  If they weren't at this free day day-care offered by the foundation, these kids would be on the streets.):

Sinto, one of our favorites.

I was much more hardcore than he was, it just wasn't caught on tape...
We ended up staying in Pattaya this weekend because there was still a lot we hadn't seen. We'll probably go next weekend or sometime soon. Our Thai is still lacking, but we're slowly learning. I now know how to say thank you. I need to learn how to say How much, too expensive, stuff like that. It's almost lunch time!!!
